About Us/Me

Our lives and love have been filled with adventure. We met in New Zealand while studying abroad in college and the first few months of our relationship were spent road tripping, back packing, climbing glaciers and exploring the country. It was a blast! After returning to the U.S. we dated for five years before getting married at our favorite ski resort in the mountains near our home – and we recently celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. Throughout our relationship we’ve continued to travel and explore new places and cultures. We’ve even been fortunate enough to travel with our extended families —going on a backpacking trip in Peru with Chad’s family and to Egypt, Myanmar and Iceland with Par’s family.

Our most rewarding adventure has been raising our daughter who we adopted as a baby in 2015. Being her parents is the best!!! She is a smart, spirited, joy-filled child. We’re sharing our love of adventure with her—she’s travelled to 16 states and two foreign countries already even though she’s only three. She cannot wait to be a big sister and we know she will be a loving, protective, fun playmate for a little one.

While we love adventure, we also enjoy being settled and secure at home. We live in a historic house in a fun, safe neighborhood. There are three parks, a nature trail and restaurants all within a few blocks of our house. Our daughter loves to ride bikes on the trail or walk to the ice cream store! There are two good elementary schools within walking distance of our home. Most evenings we can be found hanging out in our backyard—grilling dinner, listening to music and playing as we throw the ball for our hound dog, Meru.

Par is a doctor who provides care to underserved women both at home and internationally. Her work reminds her everyday that families come together in many different ways and mothers are incredibly strong and resilient. Chad manages finances for a center at the University that focuses on promoting socially responsible ventures like working to better provide early childhood education and homeless services. We have an incredible network of family and friends who have supported us through the ups and downs in life. They loved and assisted us when we first became parents and are excited to see our family grow again through adoption. We would be thrilled to welcome a child of any race into our family and circle of friends. Since we have a black daughter we talk about race a lot. We are working hard to ensure she has racial mirrors in her daily life and knows that she is full of ‘black girl magic.’ It is important to us that our children remain connected to their cultural heritage.

Above all we want you to know your child will be loved unconditionally. We are hoping for an open adoption where our child will always know all their parents—biological and adopted—and the way we all came together as a family. No matter what, we will share with this special child your great love and our admiration for you. Our families, friends and community will provide love, support and guidance as he or she grows. Thank you again for taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents. We wish you peace throughout this process.

About You

Thank you for considering adoption and taking time to learn about us.  We can only imagine the difficulty of the choice you are making and our greatest wish is that you find a family that feels right for you, your child and this process. Hopefully our profile will give you a sense of who we are, our journey and the life your child would have if you chose us as adoptive parents.

Since childhood each of us has known we would adopt. In the spring of 2015 we adopted our daughter. Being her parents is awesome! She brings us joy and laughter and love. We feel so lucky to get to spend everyday watching her grow. We are both close to our siblings so really want our daughter to have a sibling to share the world with. We look forward to expanding our family through adoption.

There is so much love and respect in our home that we cannot wait to share with you and a little one. We hope for an open adoption with boundaries we all settle upon together. We cannot wait to nurture a child of any race or culture. Please know that your child will be loved unconditionally and supported as they pursue their dreams. If the fit is right we look forward to navigating this process with you.
