About Us/Me

Hello! We are so grateful that you have taken the time to look at our profile. We have known each other since 7th grade but didn’t start dating until after college. We have now been together as a couple for 17 years, and very happily married for 10 years. About 6 years ago we started trying to have a baby but were not able to conceive. We tried many infertility treatments, but we were not able to have a baby. At that time, we decided to pursue adoption. We adopted our daughter, Francesca (Frankie), about 3 years ago, and the joy she has brought to our lives is indescribable. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome another child into our home and family.

We have lived in many places over the years (Arlington, VA, Pittsburgh, PA, Ann Arbor, MI), but have settled back home in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan where we are both originally from. We bought our forever home about 1 year ago and are so happy here. We are just a short walk to parks, restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, a movie theater, a library, and our family! Frankie loves being outside and goes to the park almost every day. She also loves riding her scooter and bike, swimming, and playing with her friends. We have two small rescue doggies, Rudy (a mini-poodle) & Tino (a yorkie-poo), and enjoy playing with them and walking them around the neighborhood.

Steve works as an IT director for a hospital union and in his free time loves working on home automation and cooking elaborate weekend breakfasts for the family. Audrey is a gynecologist and enjoys running, reading, and gardening. Frankie goes to a Spanish immersion pre-school and even at just 3 years old speaks a lot of Spanish! She amazes us every day with her intelligence, humor, generosity, and kindness. She absolutely loves people and says to hi to everyone she meets. She would be the most amazing big sister!

As a family, we like to spend time outside at the park, playing in the back yard, or hiking. We also love cooking together, reading stories, and playing games. We see our family frequently and have a very close group of friends and spend most of our weekends with them. They are our daughter’s “aunts” and “uncles” and are an amazing, supportive, and loving extended family. Our family and friends are very excited about welcoming another child into the family! They are a great support system and we are so lucky to have them.

We love to travel and see new places, and (when COVID is over) hope to take our children on some great adventures, like seeing the national parks, visiting other countries, and of course Disney World! One of our favorite places to vacation, though, is close to home - Steve’s parents’ lake house in northern Michigan, where we can just relax and take life a little slower. In the summer we go to the beach there, get ice cream, and go on the boat. In the winter, we can play in the snow, and hibernate and watch movies!

About You

Although we don’t know you, we know that the decisions you are facing are not easy ones, and our thoughts are with you as strive to make the choices that are best for you, your family, and your child. You are the expert on your own life, and we hope you have the support you need to trust yourself in these decisions.

If you choose us as your adoptive family, we will never have enough words to thank you for the greatest gift of helping us to build our family. We want you to know that if you choose our family, we promise to raise your child in a loving, nurturing, safe, compassionate, supportive home. Your child will have every opportunity for education, enrichment, adventure, and joy. We will nurture and cultivate our child’s interests and dreams, whatever they may be. We hope to raise our child with an appreciation for art, music, nature, animals, travel, and culture. We will strive to instill a strong sense of dedication to family, social justice, equality for all peoples, and respect for themselves and others.

We are committed to open adoption and to providing you and your family with pictures, updates, and communication, unless you would prefer to not have those things. Regardless of the level of openness we all decide is right, your child will always know that they have two families that love them very much, and want the best for them.

We can’t wait to open our hearts and our home to a child. If you would like to learn more about us or the dreams we have for our family, we would love the opportunity to speak with you and would welcome the chance to learn more about you, too! We wish you all the best in this journey. Love, Steve, Audrey, & Frankie
