About Us/Me

Hello and thank you for visiting our profile to learn a little more about us! We’re so incredibly excited for the opportunity to expand our young family through adoption. For as difficult and challenging as this process must be for you, I hope you are inspired by how much love is out there in the world just waiting for a little one to pour it on. It has been humbling and awe inspiring for us to say the least.

We’re Tabitha and Robert. We first met in 2012 when Tab’s brother began dating one of Rob’s closest childhood friends. That summer was filled with sand volleyball tournaments and pool parties where we developed a wonderful friendship. Everything changed that fall when Rob’s date for a friend’s wedding bailed on him at the last minute. Rather than go stag, he called Tab and they spent the night dancing and laughing (mainly at Rob’s horrible dance moves ha ha). We married in 2015 and had our ceremony on a snow-covered day in April the following year, which made for some interesting photos!

Rob grew up in a small town in Ohio with his two brothers David and John. After high school he joined the service, spending the next four years trying to stay out of harm’s way. After his enlistment he went on to play football in college for a power five school and now works for the State Department, traveling the world protecting US Ambassadors abroad.

Tab was born in Germany where her father was stationed, though she spent most of her childhood in southern Ohio with her six younger siblings Seth, Peter, DJ, Lydia, Elisha and Eve. Tab owns her own salon and has been a stylist for over a decade. She loves being her own boss and making her own schedule. We are lucky enough to live just a few short blocks from her building, making it a joy to walk to work every morning with our dog, Todd.

We both come from large extended families, Tab’s family especially being no stranger to adoption. Her brothers Peter and DJ and sister Eve were all adopted. Most recently, Tab’s parents adopted four siblings Chloe, Andrew, Abigale and Charity. They have been a loving addition that has filled their home with laughter. And we have four beautiful nieces Mina, Nina, Estelle, and Nava and one ornery nephew, Emery. They love their “Uncle Bob” and “Aunt Tabby.” We love having such a unique, mixed-race family. What a blessing!

Our favorite things to do together all revolve around enjoying the outdoors, working with our hands and being physically active. We love playing sports, exercising, kayaking, hiking and hunting and fishing. Tab is an avid runner and has completed many half marathons and one full marathon. She loves playing music with her siblings and in our church. Rob grew up hunting with his dad and brothers and loves to cook. We feel fortunate that our parents taught us to have such a personal relationship with our food. Most recently, our time has been spent renovating our home. It hasn’t been easy, but the reward has been so worth it!

Adoption has always been a part of our plan, though it wasn’t until later that we discovered that having biological children wasn't in the cards for us. The last few years have taught us to love hard, wait quietly, and act passionately. Parenthood is such a gift we will never feel fully deserving of, and we thank you for considering us.

About You

Wherever you are reading this, I hope you know how much courage it takes to go through this process.

Every adoption has a unique story. Tab's siblings grew up asking questions about their birth parents; constantly wanting to hear their adoption stories as they looked through letters and pictures from their birth mamas. Their birth parents all had to make hard choices on their own and we know you will have to make some hard choices too. We hope you know that we are here to support you, no matter your decision.

If we get the chance to adopt, our children will grow up with a family who loves them and reminds them every day how special they are. We don't know who you are yet, but we pray for you daily.
