About Us/Me

Joss is from France, Alice from the USA.  We have a unique story of meeting on an airplane and falling in love right then and there.  Our relationship was challenging in the beginning, because it was long distance (Joss in France and Alice in California) – but we are both the types of people that will do anything for the people we love, so we made it work!  We got married in August of 2013 & have been together ever since.   We would say we live our lives passionately with fun, adventure, and curiosity.

We have family all over the world, from Joss’s family in France, to Alice’s family in Virginia and other relatives spread out all over the USA in Washington DC, Chicago & Florida.  We travel quite a bit and frequently have visitors here in California.

We are both very creative - Joss is a videographer & photographer and Alice is crafty. Mostly with yarn, it’s everywhere in our home.  We both travel a little bit for work but have incredibly flexible jobs and are at home a lot.  We are extremely excited about having children in our home.  Both of us are silly, fun ‘kid’ people.

We have a strong community surrounding us and our neighborhood is overflowing with children.  We live across the street from a popular kid friendly park where we hang out with our neighbors and the kids enjoy throwing the ball or frisbee for our dogs.  With the amazing weather here in California we have lots of opportunity to get outside and enjoy nature.  Some of our best friends (and parents of Alice’s 2-year-old Goddaughter) live less than a mile away.  We live near an aquatic center that has a great kids park & lap pool, a wonderful bike path, hiking trails, beaches, etc.  We are just really missing children of our own to enjoy this with.

Quick note about race if applicable. We are fortunate that we have a diverse circle of friends and family. We know if raising a child of a different race or culture that it is extremely important that we provide our child with role models that reflect them. We are committed as a white couple to ensure that our child's culture is reflected back to them.  We are aware of how important that is.  We are committed to celebrating and recognizing diversity, we are supporters of the black lives movement and we are blessed to have a circle of friends that reflect our values. We wish to ensure that your child will always feel safe, seen, and welcomed.  And we know as a white couple raising a child of  a different race it is our responsibility to ensure that our home and our lives are true reflections of them.

We are incredibly grateful to you for taking the time to read this & would love to get to know you and answer any questions you may have.

About You

Hey mama (and friends/family), we just want you to know that our hearts are open to growing on this journey with you.  We are far from perfect but are ready to figure things out.  You can call us any time.  If you choose us, and if you wanted, we could visit you in person before the birth so that we can get to know each other better. Whatever you want, just say the word.  We are here, ready to love on you so stinking hard.

We are so sorry that you have to go through this, and we just want to be positve forces in your life in the future.  We are open books, so any questions just ask. We know this is a huge decision and you have so much to think about, and we are sending you so much love and peace.
