About Us/Me

My husband and I have been married for 6 years and have a 16-month-old daughter.  As many looking to adopt, our road to having a family was difficult.  We were finally able to conceive our daughter through IVF.  I firmly believe that everything happens for a reason (if only to help make sense of why hard things happen).  Our daughter was the only embryo that made it to implantation.  Complications arose during delivery resulting in an emergency c-section followed by an emergency hysterectomy to save my life, leaving me with the inability to carry another child.  My husband and I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have our daughter and can’t imagine our life without her.  If we had leftover embryos from our IVF cycle our choice may have been surrogacy but we believe God had a different plan for us, a plan that leads us to today and our choice to grow our family through adoption.

My husband has been a high school science teacher for the past 14 years.  I have been in the real estate finance industry for 13 years.  We both come from Big Ten schools, Ohio State and Purdue, so college football season becomes very interesting for us.  :)  We are a competitive, loving family that enjoys traveling and spending time with one another.

Having 13 nieces and nephews and seeing how our daughter lights up around other children, we welcome the chance to give her a sibling and make our family complete.

About You

Having carried my daughter to term, I can sympathize with some of the challenges both emotionally and physically that you are going through.  Pregnancy is hard, and we can’t commend you enough for being willing to give your son / daughter a chance at a loving, fulfilling life.  We can’t promise that we will be perfect parents (as having a daughter of our own has given us the experience and knowledge that that is impossible!) but we do promise to love your child as our own.  We have nothing but respect for you and the incredibly brave decision you are making.
